I'm Buying a German Shepherd Puppy, Now What?
By: Brandon Hayes

To start, let me be the first to congratulate you on your decision to purchase a spectacular dog and a wonderful addition to your family.  I wish you all the luck in the world.

I expect the following things from a new puppy buyer:

1.    You sign a contract stating you understand and agree with the terms of purchase.
2.    You will provide veterinary care when necessary.
3.    You purchase a crate and crate train your puppy.
4.    You will adequately socialize your puppy.
5.    You will sign up for puppy training and continue to train the dog.
6.    You will house the dog safely. (This means “puppy proof” the house)
7.    You will feed a high quality dog food. We suggest Life's Abundance (click to see and buy)
8.    You teach others, especially children, how to interact safely with a puppy.
9.    You keep your puppy/dog under control at all times.
10.    You purchase appropriate supplies; leash, collar, bowls, training treats (by Life's Abundance) etc.
11.    You have a few safe chew toys.
12.    And finally, you love him/her.  But love the dog enough not to treat him/her like a child.

A list of things to buy (Copy it and bring it to the store with you.)
1.    Crate
2.    Puppy food (by Life's Abundance)
3.    Food/water bowls
4.    A chew toy (or two)
5.    Leash (preferably leather)
6.    Collar
7.    Training treats (by Life's Abundance)
8.    Cleaning supplies (for accidents)

A list of things to do with your puppy (Copy it and post it on the fridge.)
1.    Set up an initial vet visit.
2.    List some puppy socialization places.
3.    Contact a trainer and set up some training classes.

Hayes Haus Dog Training also suggests you start off on the right foot with your new puppy by purchasing a puppy pak from Life's Abundance.  It contains a 20lb bag of food some treats and much more!
