Hayes Haus Dog Training
would love to keep all of our German Shepherd females here with us but we don't
have the space or the time to care for them in the manner in which they
deserve. In order to keep our breeding
bitches healthy and happy we run a foster breeding program. This way our beloved German Shepherd females
get the care and attention they deserve.
This program allows a
generous foster family to have high quality, pick German Shepherd puppy or
older German Shepherd female at little to no initial cost. The job of the foster home is to provide this
dog day to day care.Day to day care
includes feeding, training, vet care, grooming and of course to give love to
this wonderful animal.
This German Shepherd
female is to be kept intact as long as she is a breeding prospect. When the fostered female is 10 months of age
she is x-rayed for hip and elbow dysplasia (at the expense of H.H.D.T.).If free from these genetic conditions the
puppy's temperament is further evaluated by Hayes Haus Dog Training.If found suitable for breeding at 10 months;
one more set of x-rays (at the expense of H.H.D.T.) will be taken at two years
of age and an additional temperament test is conducted. If not excepted for breeding the female is
spayed and given to the foster family.
Now two (or older) years
of age, this female is to be kept intact and available for breeding when she
comes into season.Hayes Haus Dog
Training will breed the female and give her back to the foster family for the
majority of her gestation period.Approximately one week before the female whelps the litter of pups she
is returned to Hayes Haus Dog Training to prepare for whelping and is kept
there until the puppies are weaned off of her milk (all breeding expenses paid
for by H.H.D.T.).At this time the
German Shepherd is returned to the foster family once again.
Once this German
Shepherd brood bitch is retired, between 6 and 8 years of age she becomes the
sole property of the foster family.Additionally, the foster family is given a choice to keep a puppy from
their females last litter at no cost.
***** All German Shepherd breeding pairs are x-rayed for hip and elbow dysplasia and found to be free from it. Feel free to visit the orthopedic foundation for animals to confirm.*****
